Massimo Messina is a Principal with Heritage Capital Group’s Supply Chain Group, bringing more than 30 years of experience advising corporations, private equity firms, and entrepreneurs on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, valuation, and strategic growth initiatives. Throughout his career, he has completed and advised on transactions spanning transportation, logistics, supply chain services, technology, and related sectors.

Prior to joining Heritage Capital Group, Massimo served as Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions and President of the corporate venture investment platform for Crowley, a leading worldwide transportation and logistics company. In that role, he led strategic acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, corporate venture investments, and capital formation initiatives. His accomplishments included launching the company’s venture investment arm, executing multiple acquisitions and venture investments, leading a $300 million preferred equity transaction, structuring a leveraged recapitalization, and negotiating the formation of a $1.2 billion industry merger.

Before that, Massimo was President of BG Strategic Advisors, an investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for clients across the supply chain and technology sectors. He advised private and public companies on strategic transactions, including numerous acquisitions, divestitures, and growth initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Massimo held senior leadership positions with Navigant Consulting (now Ankura), Duff & Phelps, Grant Thornton, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Houlihan Lokey, and Credit Suisse First Boston. Massimo holds an MBA from Boston University Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Connecticut College. He also studied economics at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. Fluent in both English and Italian, he is a dual U.S. and EU citizen.

At Heritage Capital Group, Messina will focus on advising companies across the transportation and supply chain sectors, including third-party logistics (3PL) providers, full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL) freight companies, last-mile logistics businesses, freight forwarders, warehousing and distribution operators, maritime service providers, and transportation technology companies. His combination of investment banking and corporate M&A experience positions him to help business owners, corporate acquirers, and financial sponsors evaluate mergers and acquisitions, capital raising opportunities, and other strategic initiatives.
