JA-RU is a Florida-based toy company with offices and showrooms in Jacksonville, Florida and Hong Kong. JA-RU is family-owned and has been in operation for three generations. JA-RU was founded in 1961 by Bernard Selevan, who started the company in his garage. Mr. Selevan named the company after his two sons, Jack and Russell, who later entered the business and oversee daily operations.
