Heritage Capital Group is pleased to announce that Paul McGarvey has joined the firm as a Special Agriculture Advisor. Paul will assist Heritage clients in the rapidly evolving agriculture industry, where global demand for food and innovation in farm technology is driving new development in precision farming and merger and acquisition activity in a sector that is often overlooked by traditional institutional investors.
Paul has over 25 years of investment banking experience. His work encompasses a variety of transactions which include capital raising, merger & acquisitions, divestitures and financial advisory services. His primary focus is serving clients across the U.S. food and agriculture supply chain from farm to fork in both the traditional and organic/natural food and agriculture sectors. He is the founder and current President of Chadron Capital Markets, LLC, an exclusive food and agribusiness investment banking firm based in Des Moines, IA. He previously was a co-founder of Cybus Capital Markets, LLC, a leading national, middle market food and agribusiness investment banking firm with offices in IA, CA, CO and FL.
Matt Laffey, principal and co-lead of Heritage’s Agriculture Industry Group commented, “I have worked with Paul for over two decades on a number of challenging farm belt transactions – deals where weather risk, commodity cycles, and the vagaries of plant or animal biology is an inherent part of the deal. From his vantage point in the middle of the farm belt, he understands the trends developing on the farm, and the capital that is quietly investing in those trends.”
