James E. Gallagher

Principal
James E. Gallagher has 28 years of diversified experience in the areas of capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance and wealth management.
Mr. Gallagher held various executive management roles with Bank of America from 1983-2006. Most recently he served as the southeast region president for Bank of America’s Private Banking division from 1998-2006. In this role, he was responsible for more than 500 associates in offices ranging across the southeast from Virginia to Florida, serving the comprehensive wealth management needs of high net worth clients with investable assets greater than $3 million. The southeast region had more than $30 billion in investment assets under management, $7 billion in loans outstanding, and $2 billion in deposits. Comprehensive services provided to high net worth clients included investment management, trust administration, brokerage transactions, and customized credit, deposit and banking services.
In addition to his private banking duties, from 2004-2006 Mr. Gallagher served as the market president for northeast Florida. In this role, he was the senior executive for Bank of America in Northeast Florida, coordinating all lines of business and overseeing the bank’s corporate foundation budget.
From 1996-1998, Mr. Gallagher was a senior vice president in the corporate strategy and planning division. In this role, he analyzed, structured and closed numerous acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures for Bank of America and its subsidiaries.
From 1983-1995, Mr. Gallagher worked in various roles in the capital markets and investment banking divisions in Charlotte, North Carolina and Tampa, Florida. These roles included sales manager for fixed income securities, managing director for municipal finance, managing director for structured private placements, and national sales manager for interest rate derivatives.
Prior to joining Bank of America in 1983, Mr. Gallagher was the assistant treasurer for a major commercial and consumer finance company from 1980-1983. He began his career in 1978 as a corporate finance associate for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. In this role, he analyzed and participated in various acquisition and diversification opportunities for Anheuser-Busch.
Mr. Gallagher received a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina in 1976, earning academic distinction as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma. His received his M.B.A. degree in 1978 from the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. He is a registered securities principal and holds Series 4, 7, 24, 53, and 66 securities licenses.
Mr. Gallagher has been involved in numerous civic organizations throughout his career. Most recently he has served on the board of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and also the Baptist Health System Foundation.
